Edna E. Souders

Edna Ernestine Souders, 83, of Orbisonia, PA, died Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at AristaCare at Huntingdon Park, Huntingdon, PA.
    
Born July 4, 1934 in Tell Twp., Huntingdon Co., PA, she was a daughter of the late Oran & Margaret (McMullen) Smith. She was united in marriage to Albert L. Souders on November 6, 1951. Mr. Souder preceded in death on June 27, 1984.
    
She is survived by five children, Roger Souders and wife Mary of Mt. Union, PA, Patricia Jane Holden and husband Donnie of Saltillo, PA, Alan Souders and wife Lorie of Carlisle, PA, Pamela Fortney and husband Donald of Mt. Union, PA and Margaret Gayle Souders and companion Andrew Scott of Mill Creek, PA. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren and five siblings, Cula Myers of Honey Grove, PA, Edith Hockenberry of Rockhill Furnace, PA, Evelyn Bucher of Orbisonia, PA, Wilbur Smith of RD, Mt. Union, PA and Earl Smith of Orbisonia, PA. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Phyllis Nearhood, one son in law, Danny Nearhood, one grandson, two brothers, Donald Smith and William Smith and three sisters, Viola Snyder, Blanche Shaw,  and Mary Singer.
    
Mrs. Souders was a member of the former Orbisonia Assembly of God Church. During her life she was mainly a homemaker, however, she had worked for a time at Mt. Union Sportswear, Mt. Union, PA.
    
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley St., Orbisonia, PA with Rev. Jeffrey Knepper and Rev. Richard Harter officiating. Interment will be made privately at Orbisonia Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
