Betty E. Ramsey

Betty E. Ramsey, 80, of Elliots Run Road, Three Springs, PA, died Sunday, September 1, 2014 at West Shore Pinnacle Health, Mechanicsburg, PA.

Born January 5, 1934 at Three Springs, PA, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Esther (Hockenberry) Bachtel. She was married to Herbert D. "Jake" Ramsey on July 7, 1961 at Hagerstown, MD. Mr. Ramsey preceded in death February 1, 1993.

Surviving are three children: Kimberly Stevens and husband Edward of Shippensburg, PA, Herbert W. "Bill" Ramsey and wife Molly of Larksville, PA, and Melanie Myers and husband Joseph of RD, Three Springs, PA; eight grandchildren: Hilary Costello, Heath Forslund, Holly Forslund, Cody Myers, Ashley Ramsey, Emily Ramsey, Dison Myers and William "Pete" Ramsey; four great grandchildren; and two step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters: Myrtle Marie McCall, Sandra Bachtel and Bertha Bachtel; and three brothers: Darrell, William and Melvin Bachtel.

Mrs. Ramsey attended the Walnut Grove Church of God, RD, Three Springs, PA for over 50 years and was very active in various church functions. During her life she was a homemaker.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and especially liked going to grandchildren's sporting events, picnicking, camping and the monthly ladies' outings.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, September 5, 2014 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley St., Orbisonia, PA with Pastor Daniel Winey officiating. Interment will be made at Walnut Grove Cemetery, RD, Three Springs, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home 7 - 9 p.m. on Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
