Richard A. Locke

Richard A. "Andy" Locke, 62, of Shade Gap, PA, died at 11:40 p.m., Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill, PA.

Born June 5, 1951 at Huntingdon, PA, he was a son of the late Richard N. & Mary Jane (Kling) Locke. He was married to the former Denise K. Mumma on October 8, 1977. Mrs. Locke survives at their home.

Also surviving are three children: Wesley R. Locke and his wife Brandy, Jesse A. Locke and his wife Heidi, and Stacey N, Fields and her husband Jimmy, all of Shade Gap, PA; five grandchildren: Nicholas Fields, Carter Fields, Emily Fields, Brody Locke and Kennedy Locke; and one brother: Charles L. Locke and his wife Cyndi of Orrtanna, PA.

Mr. Locke attended the Fair Ridge Assembly of God Church, RD, Shade Gap, PA. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Dead Horse Camp, Shade Gap, PA.

He retired in 2011 from The Potomac Center, Hagerstown, MD after 26 years service. Prior to that, he was employed at Harbison-Walker Refractories, Mt. Union, PA for 10 years.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and especially liked bird hunting and working with his bird dogs.

He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 17, 2014 at the Fair Ridge Assembly of God Church, 22776 Piper Lane, Shade Gap, PA with Pastor Dan Fox officiating. Interment will be made at Fair Ridge Cemetery, RD, Shade Gap, PA. Friends may call at the church 6 - 8 p.m. on Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
