David F. Brouse

David F. Brouse,57, of RD, Blairs Mills, PA, died Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at UPMC, Altoona, PA. Born March 27, 1957 at Huntingdon, PA, he was a son of the late Fred O. & Sara Jane (Krepps) Brouse. He was married to the former Mary Catherine (Cathie) Shander on November 30, 1991 at Johnstown, PA. Mrs. Brouse survives at their home.

Also surviving are one son, Lucas Brouse Johnson and wife Jill of New Bloomfield, PA, two grandchildren, Hailey Snyder and Hunter Johnson, two siblings, Rebecca J. Brouse and companion Bobby Farris of Fayetteville, PA and Grant J. Brouse and wife Elta of Chambersburg, PA, one niece and two nephews, Hannah, Jacob and Seth Brouse and his mother in law, Marie M. Shander of Johnstown, PA.

Mr. Brouse had been a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Shade Gap, PA and more recently a member of the Nossville United Methodist Church, RD, Blairs Mills, PA. He was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union, Local #126, Blue Bell, PA and the Sons of the American Legion, Dry Run, PA. He served as a volunteer assistant coach with the Southern Huntingdon County High School football program for several years.

Mr. Brouse was employed by PennDot as an operator for 14 years.

He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and a proud Ford owner. He was also very fond of his dog Bogie.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 4, 2014 at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 11669 Circle St., Shade Gap, PA with Rev. Vicki Jordan officiating. Interment will be made at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, RD, Orbisonia, PA. Friends may call at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley St., Orbisonia, PA 6 - 9 p.m. on Friday and at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
