Edward John Petry, Sr.

Edward John Petry, Sr. October 8, 1932 - December 2, 2014, Dingman Township, PA – Formally of Monroe, NY.

Edward, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle; passed away at home after a long illness. The son of the late William and Laura (Bosch) Petry he was born Brooklyn, NY and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. After 21 years of working as a police officer for the Port Authority of NY and NJ, he started his own business, "Hot Dog Heaven." He enjoyed feeding and interacting with his customers. He possessed a quick wit and always had a smile for everyone. After to moving to PA in 1989, he enjoyed fishing, gardening, and watching the wildlife roaming his property. He also enjoyed traveling across the U.S with Annette; his wife of 58 years.

Edward is survived by his wife; children: Edward Jr. and his wife Linda, William and his wife Cynthia, Laura and her husband William Beezer, and Mark; grandchildren: Joseph and Marie, Jennifer and Jeffrey, Michelle and Jacob, Lauren, Tiffany, and Kristina; great grandchildren: Ava, Bella and Joseph Jr; numerous nephews; nieces; great nephews; and great nieces.

Friends may call at Stroyan Funeral Home, 405 West Harford St., Milford, PA on Friday December 5, 2014 from 6 to 9 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Church, Milford, PA on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. with Rev. Gregory Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in St. Anastasia Cemetery, Harriman, NY.
