Patricia Lyzenga

Patricia Mary (McCully) Lyzenga, 58, of Hampton Township, passed away on June 23, 2013, at home, surrounded by her devoted family.

Born in Elizabeth, Patricia graduated from High Point Regional High School and later from S.C.C.C., with honors. She was employed by Newton Medical Center as a Respiratory Therapist. Anyone who knew Patty, knew that she provided tender loving care to each and every one of her patients. She was a member of the Stillwater and Newton Rescue Squads, which gave her great fulfillment. A devout Catholic, Patty was a member of St. Joseph Church in Newton. Her hobby was endurance cycling, and she participated in numerous century rides for charity and was often seen riding throughout the county.

Patricia was predeceased by her loving parents, Jeanne and James McCully.
She is survived by her loving husband, John Lyzenga, and their two children, John and Alicia and her fiancé, Nicholas Serignese, of Hampton Township. She is also survived by her siblings, James McCully of Bushkill, Pennsylvania, Michael McCully and his wife, Margaret, of Sandyston, Maureen McCully of Newton, and Timothy McCully and his wife, Diane, of Bow, New Hampshire. Patricia is also blessed with numerous nieces, nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews.

Patty Mary's greatest joy came from her children, riding her bike, walking with her "bff" Cindy Leppert, lunching with "the girl's" from NMC, and reading. Patty was filled with such kindness and love for every one she knew, and she will be greatly missed by all.

A Memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Friday at St. Joseph R.C. Church in Newton. Entombment will follow at Newton Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial visitation will be held Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High Street, Newton.
