Lucas, Jr., Ronald Obituary

Ronald Lavelle Lucas, Jr., son of the late Ronald Lucas Sr. and Eva Lucas, was born October 10, 1973 in SE Washington, DC. Ronald moved to White Marsh, MD in 2005 and made it his home until his untimely passing.  He was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 19, 2015.

He attended DC public schools and graduated from Ballou High School as valedictorian in 1991, a remarkable feat for a young black man at the time. He later enrolled in Lincoln Tech to study automotive repair, which led him to open a business with his late wife, Teresa Holifield Lucas. The business, Lucas Performance, was owned and operated by Ronald for over ten years.  He performed general repairs, roadside assistance, motor swaps and sports upgrades. He specialized in the Nissan 300Z and his favorite car of all time, the Toyota Supra.Ronald was one of six children, growing up with brothers, Ronald Prince Sr. (Tonya Prince, Sister In law), Dione Prince, and Christopher Lucas, as well as sisters Kimla Prince, and Tamela Lucas.  In 1996, he married his late wife, Teresa Lucas. He later met and married Diana Lucas in 2005, with whom he had two daughters.  He was a devoted follower and obedient servant of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a prominent and dedicated member of Wilde Lake Interfaith Center, and shared The Word with anyone who would listen. He was a devout prayer warrior and continually reminded people that God has a plan for all of our lives and we must rely on Him for guidance and strength.

He was known for his commitment to his customers, friends and children. He valued family time and enjoyed racing with his friends and having holiday celebrations with family. Lucas Performance was the center of his life, but he reminded everyone that nothing replaces the love from family, especially his children.

Ronald is preceded in death by: his daughter, Andrea Arnold; and survived by: his children, Brittany, Bianca, Andre, Ronald, Kerry Ann, Naomi and Dawn (mother, Michelle); his God-children: Taylor, Lyric, Nevaeh, and Brielle; his fellow coworkers: Blanco, Stretch, Corey and Larry; his niece, Raquel Prince; his nephews: Ronald Prince, Jr. and Ryan Prince; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and great friends.
