Genevieve V. Houck

Genevieve V. Houck, 96, of Orbisonia, PA, died at 5:00 AM, Friday, April 15, 2016 at the Woodland Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Orbisonia, PA.
    
Born July 10, 1919 at Oregon, IL, she was a daughter of the late Fred M. & Goldie (Bowman) Shoop. She was married to Glenn R. Houck on November 21, 1941 at Hagerstown, MD. Mr. Houck preceded in death on April 1, 2008.
    
Surviving are two daughters, Glenda R. Rothermel and husband Don and Sharon E. Querry and husband Fred, both of Orbisonia, PA. Also surviving are 5 grandsons, Douglas Doyle, Wendell Doyle, Christopher T. Querry, Bradley Querry and Brett Querry, sixteen great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and one sister, DeVona  Black of RD, Three Springs, PA. Two brothers, McFern Shoop and Alfred Shoop and two sisters, Delores Whitt and Glorynne Sharp, preceded in death.
    
Mrs. Houck was a member of the Orbisonia Presbyterian Church where she had been active in the Missionary Society and had served as a Sunday School teacher. She had also attended the Freedom Pentecostal Church, formerly of Orbisonia, now of Mt. Union, PA. She was also active in 4-H in her earlier years and was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Madden-Wennick Post 518, American Legion, Rockhill Furnace, PA.
    
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, April 18, 2016 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley St., Orbisonia, PA with Rev. Bradley Querry and Rev. Rodney Heist officiating. Interment will be made at Orbisonia Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Monday.
