Betty L. Holden

Betty L. Holden, 89, of Orbisonia, PA, died at 7:50 AM, Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at AristaCare at Woodland Park, Orbisonia, PA.
    
Born July 11, 1927 at Mercersburg, PA, she was a daughter of the late Russell & Ruth (Baer) Hornbaker. She was united in marriage to C. Joe Holden on December 24, 1950 at Ozark, AL, while Mr. Holden was serving in the U. S. Army. Mr. Holden preceded in death on September 17, 1987.

She is survived by two daughters, Trudy Creswell and husband Stephen of Orbisonia, PA and Susan DiPaola and husband Patrick of Mechanicsburg, PA. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Cody Young and husband Shawn, Luke Creswell and wife Krista and Lindsay, Patrick and Allison DiPaola and five great grandchildren, Gracie, Ella Joe, Lucas Michael, Alle Rose and Jaxson. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Mrs. Holden was a member of the Orbisonia United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the former Gleaner’s Sunday School class and had served for many years as the communion stewart. She was a 1945 graduate of Mt. Union High School. During her life she was a homemaker.

Mrs. Holden was a community minded person during her life in Orbisonia.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM, Friday, June 2, 2017 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley St., Orbisonia, PA with Rev. Ed Seeley and Mr. Nin Hiles, Jr. officiating. Interment will be made at Orbisonia Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the time of the service on Friday.
