John M. Cornelius

John M. Cornelius, 77, of Hares Valley Road, Mapleton, PA, died Tuesday, October 9, 2018 in Cass Twp., Huntingdon Co., PA.

 Born March 5, 1941 in Cass Twp., Huntingdon Co., he was a son of the late Ralph and Clara (Miller) Cornelius. 

 He is survived by six children, Justine Cornelius of Arizona, Angela Lindenfelser of Pittsburgh, PA, Tracy Shade and companion Gregory Martine, Jr. of RD, Mapleton, PA, Patty Morgan and companion Don Platt of Pottstown, PA, Jesse Cornelius of RD, Mapleton, PA, Stephanie Parks and husband Scott of RD, Mapleton, PA and John T. “Dird” Cornelius and wife Amy of RD, Mapleton, PA. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one sister, Elizabeth Nichol of San Diego, CA. One brother, Walter Cornelius, Sr., preceded in death.

 He was a 1959 graduate of Saltillo High School. He had worked his entire life as a farmer.

 Mr. Cornelius was a veteran of the U. S. Navy serving from March 10, 1961 until January 10, 1967.

 A funeral service for close friends and family will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, October 15, 2018 at the Robert I. McClain Funeral Home, 245 Seminary St., Cassville, PA with Pastor Adam Morgan officiating. Interment will be made at Cornelius Chapel Cemetery, RD, Mapleton, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home 6 - 8 PM on Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
