Wendell "Mark" Bates

On Thursday, September 22, 2011, Wendell “Mark” Bates departed this life.  He leaves to mourn a devoted wife, Janet Kyle Bates; mother, Rev. Joanne C. Bates and father, Wendell R. Bates. Wendell is also survived by four children; Marcus R., Wendell Clifford, Donovan (Evelyn) and Latanya B. Haas (Michael), five grandchildren; Andraya and Naomi Bates, Jaylah, Micah and Baby Boy Haas, three brothers; Victor R. (Mary), Rodney D. (Lydia) and Nathan Bates, one sister; Marcia S. Brunson (Kim), two aunts, devoted nieces, nephews and cousins plus a host of relatives and friends.

The viewing and visitation will be held at First Agape Baptist Community of Faith, 2423 Mt. Vernon Ave. Alexandria, Virginia (map, directions) on Thursday, September 29, 2011 from 9:00 A.M. until time of service at 11:00.  Interment, Bethel Cemetery, Alexandria, Virginia (map, directions).  Arrangements by Phillip Bell Sr. and Winona Morrissette-Johnson P. A.
