Williams, Larry Obituary

Larry Anthony Williams was born July 18th, 1958 in Culpepper, Virginia to Robert and Mary Williams. He was born in the country and there was not a local hospital, therefore the midwife did not come to record his birth until 3 days later. Because of this, his birthday is often celebrated on July 21st.

The same year of his birth, Larry and his parents moved to Falls Church Virginia and later moved to Washington, DC where he attended Brightwood Elementary School, Paul Jr. High, and Calvin Coolidge High School.

On June 19th, 1977 Larry’s longtime girlfriend Tawana Lattisaw gave birth to their son Eyone. He was so proud.

In 2002 he began working at Howard University and later met and married Tamara Kemp. Their union made him the proud stepfather of Zakia Bradley.  By this time, Eyone was an established author so Larry enjoyed reading his sons books and was devoted to making sure that his son’s book were heard of and sold. He had never been so proud.

He also enjoyed helping his daughter with her homework, taking her to and from school and having long conversations with her.

He was the greatest father that a child could ask for. Not to mention an excellent husband. He and his wife would talk until the sun came up. He always went out of his way to make her happy.

He was the ultimate protector and he made sure that his family was happy. His family was his life.

Larry was the ultimate provider. While working at Howard University, Larry took on a 2nd job at Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless in Rockville MD. It was nick named the BIG HOUSE. He enjoyed working at the Big House. He and his coworkers were one big family.

On Thursday April 17, 2014, Larry was called home to be with his creator. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Williams. He is survived by his mother Mary Williams, wife Tamara Kemp-Williams, son Eyone Williams (Tia), daughter Zakia, sister Felecia Williams (John), brother Greg Williams, and a host of family and friends. He will be truly missed.
