Sharon A. Striker

Sharon Ann Striker, a resident of Manassas, formerly of Front Royal, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2015, at the Capital Caring Hospice facility in Aldie, Virginia, after a four year fight with cancer.

The family will receive friends at Maddox Funeral Home on Monday, January 26th, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Services for Mrs. Striker will be at the Calvary Episcopal Church in Front Royal on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. conducted by The Rev. Deborah Rutter. Entombment will follow in Panorama Memorial Gardens. There will be a reception in the church fellowship hall following the entombment.

Mrs. Striker was born in Norfolk on August 12, 1948, a daughter of the late Donald Burke, Sr. and Annabelle Jennings Burke, both preceding her in death.

Mrs. Striker was a 1966 graduate of Warren County High School then received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing from Shenandoah University in Winchester. She enjoyed a successful career in nursing spanning 38 years, retiring in 2012, after working the past 22 years at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. as an Occupational Health Nurse.

Surviving is her husband Jack Striker, Jr. of Manassas. Also surviving are two children Kimberly Striker and Timothy Striker and his wife Ingrid, two grandchildren Codie Henry and Logan Striker, and two siblings Donna Muller and Donald Burke, Jr. all of Front Royal.

Pallbearers will be Paul Muller, Josh Muller, Bryan Burke, Dennis Burke, Skip Atkins, and Danny Hale.
