Christine M. McGhee

Christine Marie McGhee was born on June 8, 1933 in Rocky Mount Virginia. She was the oldest child of seven children and attended Franklin County training School and Morning Side Baptist Church. Lady Christine was married to the late Clarence Arthur Brown in Rocky Mount, Virginia where their first child, Janette Marie was born.  Later, they moved to Washington, DC and expanded the family with four additional children: Steven Eugene, Jacqueline Yvonne, James Elton Brown and Marietta Brown-Powell.
 
Lady Christine was a member of Scripture Cathedral Church under the leadership of Pastor C.L Long. She was a faithful member for over thirty years until her health failed and her ability to attend on a regular schedule waned. She was a licensed caregiver and ran her own Day Care business from the home. Lady Christine was residing at Carroll Manor Nursing Home of Washington until the time of her passing.
 
She leaves behind to mourn her passing six grandchildren: Michael Brown, Nanette Meadows, Stephanie Dowe, Tiffany Powell, Christine brown and Sebrina Brown; six great-grandchildren: Jamal Powell, Nori Anderson, Chase McMillian, Jr., Malia Dose, Jayla and Antoine Tyler; siblings in Rocky Mount, Virginia: Allene (James) Williams, Clarence (Beulah) McGee, Margaret (William) board, McArthur (Mary) McGhee and Curtis McGhee along with a host of other family members and friends.
