Thressa M. McClain

Thressa M. McClain, 93, formerly of Hares Valley Road, Mapleton, PA, died at 8:05 AM, Friday, August 15, 2014 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home, York, PA.

Born March 2, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Gerald & Thelma (Parks) Kyler. She was married to Hartsel G. McClain for 70 years. Mr. McClain preceded in death November 21, 2011.

Surviving are two sons, H. William McClain and wife Nancy of Dover, PA, Robert C. McClain and wife Virginia of California, five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one great great grandson and one sister, Dorothy Greenland. One sister, Kathryn Shope and one brother, Robert Parks, preceded in death.

Mrs. McClain had attended the former Latta Grove United Methodist Church, RD, Mapleton, PA and had been a member of the Jack's Mt. Lioness Club.

During her life she was primarily a homemaker.

She was an avid bowler.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley St., Orbisonia, PA with Rev. David Ford officiating. Interment will be made at Bowman's Chapel Cemetery, RD, Mapleton, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation, The Gulf Tower, 707 Grant St., 37th Floor, Pittsburgh, PA 15219-1916.
