David Brown Chunn

David Brown Chunn, 87, of Front Royal, passed away on August 16, 2014, in his home.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 24, at 2 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home with The Rev. Bessie Jett officiating. Interment will follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Flint Hill.

Mr. Chunn was born on December 24, 1926, in Sperryville, son of the late Harold Hunter and Isabelle Chunn. He worked for many years for Shenandoah’s Pride and was a member of the Giles B. Cook Post 53 of the American Legion in Front Royal. Mr. Chunn was preceded in death by a son Woodrow P. Chunn; four brothers; and one sister.

Surviving are his devoted wife of fifty-one years Virginia “Jenny” Chunn; four sons The Rev. Ronald Chunn of Columbus, Ohio, Derrick Chunn, Harold Chunn and Chin Chunn all of Front Royal; two step-sons John Summers, Jr. of Riverside, California, and Arthur Lee Summers of Las Vegas, Nevada; one step-daughter Gisele Summers of Front Royal; fifteen grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Sam Wigington, Ellis Frye, Jr., Walter Fletcher, Philip Chunn, Caleb Chunn, and Jephthah Chunn.

The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
