Lawrence Elwood Chadwell

Lawrence Elwood Chadwell, 82, of Huntly, VA, died on Saturday, November 22, 2014, at his home.

Services will be private.

Mr. Chadwell was born October 29, 1932, in Rappahannock County, son of the late John D. Chadwell and Mattie Rutherford Chadwell. He worked as a heavy equipment operator and plumber for Marumsco Plumbing and Heating for over 25 years and retired from C&C Plumbing in Manassas, VA. He enjoyed going on long rides and took such joy in his garden.

Surviving are his wife: Margaret Ann Chadwell; four children: Penny Kardis of Falls Church and Flint Hill, Dora Lee McMichael of Sterling, Ed Chadwell of Front Royal, and Ronnie Chadwell of Wardensville, WV; nine grandchildren: Cora, Alexander, Nicholas, Margaret Kardis, Jamie, Chad, Jacob McMichael, Hailey, and Keri Chadwell; and one great grandson: Jason. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family of ten children.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 28, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Maddox Funeral Home in Front Royal.
