Linda L. Bennett

Linda Lee Bennett, 66, Dug Hill Road, Three Springs, PA died at 8:35 PM, Monday, August 25, 2014 at the Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA.

Born September 17, 1947 in Clay Township, Huntingdon County, she was the daughter of the late Samuel A. and Lillian C. (Hoffman) Greenland.  She was married to Richard E. Bennett on March 26, 1966.  Mr. Bennett survives at their home.  

Two children survive:  Diane R. Stains and husband Duane and Rick Bennett and wife Dara, both of Three Springs, PA.  

There are six grandchildren: Jason, Derrick and Briana Stains and Paul, Nicholas, and Dalton Bennett.  Also, there are two great grandchildren, Riley and Jayden Stains.

Two brothers and two sisters survive:  Dorothy Wible, Waterfall, PA; Edwin Greenland, Robert Greenland and Darlene Horton, all of Three Springs.  One sister Miriam Greenland is deceased.

Mrs. Bennett was a member of the Cherry Grove Church of God, Three Springs.  She was a Sunday school teacher and was extremely active in all church activities from cleaning to planting flowers to teaching classes.

She retired in 2009 from the business office of the Southern Huntingdon County High School, Orbisonia, PA.  Mrs. Bennett loved gardening, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was well known for making whoopie pies.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 29, 2014 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley Street, Orbisonia, PA with Pastor James Lynn officiating.  Interment will be at Cherry Grove Cemetery. Three Springs, PA.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 6—9:00 PM on Thursday and one hour prior to the service on Friday.
